Fushimi; names the Sake "Tama-no-lzumi". |

boldly sets about to expand the business. |

"Gekkeikan" (crown of laurel), symbol of
victory and merit, becomes the new brand name. |

For the first time in the sake brewing
industry, sake brewing methods are scientifically analyzed through
Gekkeikan's establishment of the "Brewing Research Institute" (currently
the "General Research Institute"); Gekkeikan is appointed official
purveyor to the Imperial Household; bottled sake is introduced to
the market for the first time. |
